Year 2 went to Dorothy Clive Gardens as part of their topic on 'Scented Garden'. During the visit they took part in a variety of activities including:
- A walk around the gardens looking at all the different plants and trees (ask your children if they can remember any!)
- A visit to the beautiful waterfall. Here the children sat, watched and listened to the waterfall to help them think of words to describe it. We did this to help us write a waterfall poem back at school.
- Watercolour painting. Children were given the opportunity to carefully look at flowers that had been picked from the garden and sketch these ready to paint using watercolours.
- Planting some seeds and plant. Children planted some calendula seeds and pansy plants ready to bring home and take care of. We would love to see pictures of these plants and seeds growing! We all had a lovely day and the children had a wonderful time.
